MSU Faculty of Bioengineering and Bioinformatics Research Lab
Under the current leadership of Prof. Andrei Mironov, the FBB MSU Bioinformatic Lab is currently commited to exploring new and inovative research areas within the topics of genomics and computation theory.
Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field that develops methods and software tools for understanding biological data. As an interdisciplinary field of science, bioinformatics combines biology, computer science, mathematics and statistics to analyze and interpret biological data.
Currently the faculty members of the lab are conducting research in the following areas and are always looking for potential students and PhD researchers.

A web server that allows for time-efficient analysis and visualization of phylogenetic profiles of any set of eukaryotic proteins
Access ToolA tool for studying sequence correlations between DNA-binding proteins and their binding sites. The program searches for correlated pairs of positions in alignments of proteins and their binding sites that may play a biological role in specific protein-nucleic acid binding.
Access ToolA fast tool for the prediction of functional specificity groups and amino acid residues that determine specificity using MPA. It provides a novel phylogeny-independent method for prediction of specificity-determining positions (SDPs).
